Sarah Ménage and Allen Samuel

Songwriter Sarah Ménage, (ukulele/piano), with dazzling accompaniment from Allen Samuel on viola and violin.  Special guests Tom Dauncy plus Si Fish on percussion and kaboodle.
“Sarah Ménage is an accomplished musician and entertainer with a deep brown voice and the old fashioned soul of a cafe chanteuse. Ménage specialises in ballads about the comedic misery of human relationships – hardboiled, but with a disarmingly soft poetic centre – a finely crafted set of songs that entertain and pack a philosophical punch, delivered with off-the-cuff charm and wit.” (Venue, Bristol) below: Si Fish

George & Steve

‘Original Water.’– Poems by George Peer with accompanying music. George on Tabla and Steven Santer on Sitar: Stephen Santer has been practising sitar since 2003. His first teacher was Donagh Sanfey in Bristol, and later Tapan Roy. In Varanassi he learnt from Padmabhan Singh and had raga singing lessons with Danu Fox here in Penzance. His current sitar teacher is Ricky Romaine from Axminster.  ‘The discipline of learning to play this instrument has shaped my inner and outer worlds in profound and immeasurable ways.’…’I find Georges poetry deeply moving and greatly enjoy my role of accompanist.’
George writes, “As It happens, this very moment is real and fleeting, and I find it such a fine challenge to be present. Then comes what follows,as I seek to share that which enlivens me. Perhaps it’s in a meeting of image, word and sound. There’s a lot there.
I was born in the US and have lived in West Penwith for the past 20 years where I am currently a musician and performing member of the Shallal community dance theatre. Of recent, I have been enjoying exploring the fusion of my words with Stephen’s beautiful Sitar playing.

Lili

American born, Nigerian and German heritage, Lili explores the buried threads of her Nigerian ancestry, blurred by circumstance in her upbringing in Germany.
She invites all of us to look far back – or close back – into our roots. Which stories may we have never heard? What information do we seek to know? And what do we see in ourselves that may be an inheritance of those that came before us?
Take a sheet of paper and explore what it means to be you and how you connect to your family beyond the everyday.
In Lili’s Nigerian grandmothers honor she will share the craft of producing bar soaps. There will be herbs and flowers to integrate, but you may want to bring your own!

Nigerian food for donation and colorful clothes encouraged!

Kerry Tomlins

Writer & poet, Kerry Louise Tomlins was born in Gloucestershire. She came to Cornwall to complete her fine art degree and never left. Kerry had a challenging childhood and after gaining her degree, she trained as a counsellor and this is what has inspired her writings.
She writes to connect us to our child parts, our lost parts, our sore parts and what makes us human, but also to the light that is always within us and all around us in nature. Her work offers reflection of the light within the dark, and dark within the light. Even the darkest matter holds the brightest stars.

The Numinous Experience (Dancing Into Joy)
Led by Sapphire Sumpter

In this workshop we will go on an adventure together through movement. Starting with a guided body warm up, we will then focus on quietening the busy mind, allowing the body to move without the usual doubt or expectations we place upon ourselves and opening the door to our innate creativity and joy. There will be no set movements, only guidance and suggestions. So come and enjoy getting to know your body through movement, connect with others and feel the joy of dancing.

Kieran Linnane

Kieran Linnane – practitioner in The Thee Principles: After working for 35 years as a homeopath, Kieran recently completed a practitioner course in Sydney Banks’ Three Principles. This understanding provides a radical paradigm shift in our approach to wellbeing and mental health and she found it utterly transforming both personally and in her work with others. There is a simple shift in understanding which reveals the possibility that we can find a much better feeling within ourselves without having to wait for our life circumstances to change or improve. We can come home to ourselves right now.
